Whilst the Australian Government bestows citizenship, the Mayor conducts the citizenship ceremony itself at the Shire Offices.

When the Council receives certificates of citizenship, we make contact with the person(s) concerned to arrange a ceremony, whereby an oath or declaration is taken.  Every endeavour is made to keep the occasion as friendly and informal as possible in the company of family and friends.
