Support Groups
There are various carer support groups within the Shire. To find out more about these groups please contact Council's Assessment Officer on (03) 5772 0344
Respite
Respite services support carers by providing them with a break from their caring responsibilities. It also provides an opportunity for the person being cared for to have a break or an outing without their usual carer.
Respite services are provided to the carers of Frail older people, People with dementia and disabilities. Services can be provided in the form of:

The Murrindindi Flexible Respite Program is targeted to carers who care for dementia sufferers. The program offers support in the form of flexible respite hours to give carers some personal time.

Companion Card
The Companion Card is issued to people with a significant, permanent disability, who can demonstrate that they are unable to access most community activities and venues without attendant care support. The card can be presented when booking or purchasing a ticket at events and venues, provided the cardholder requires attendant care support in order to participate at that particular activity. Participating organisations will issue the cardholder with a second ticket for their companion at no charge. To apply for a companion card please visit the link below. |
