The battle for Victoria’s emerging bands is to commence on Saturday 21 November at Alexandra Secondary College Hall. The Alexandra youth-led FReeZA committee is hosting the Hume Regional FReeZA Push Start Final which showcases young and emerging Victorian performers.

Regional battle of bands heats are hosted by FReeZA Committee's each year and the heat winners compete in regional finals commencing in October. The Murrindindi battle held in August was won by Kinglake band, Elisa Card.

With a headline act and six bands competing for first place a big crowd is expected. Competing bands and their supporters will travel from throughout the region including Wodonga and Shepparton.

To ensure it’s a fun night for all, the conditions of entry will be strictly enforced by security. The conditions include:

• Strictly no passouts (This means no-one can leave the premises until the event finishes)
• Drug, alcohol and smoke free event
• Strictly no moshing
• It is a youth event for ages 12-25

Winners from the eight regional finals will go on to compete on stage at the annual event “Push Over Festival” on Sunday 7 March 2010 in Melbourne in front of an audience of more than 3,000 appreciative fans. This is a huge opportunity for up and coming regional bands to gain some recognition.

FReeZA encourages young Victorians to get involved in community life through planning and staging drug, alcohol and smoke-free music and cultural events in local communities.
