Telstra Mobile Network Upgrades - Taylor Bay

Council would like to share information with the Taylor Bay community about the Telstra Mobile Network Upgrade occurring this month. Telstra will be upgrading the mobile network from Monday 11 to Friday 22 December.

Telstra has shared the following with Council:

"‘Telstra is upgrading its mobile network at Taylor Bay with work to take place between Monday 11 December – Friday 22 December 2023, these dates are revised from our initial communication which we sent on Monday 20 December.

Mobile services will be impacted at various times during this period.

As this upgrade work needs to be carried out during daylight hours for health and safety reasons, our technicians will need to switch off the equipment which support mobile services in the area. This may result in some disruption to mobile services. Every effort will be made to reduce the impact to our customers, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

These upgrade works can cause disruption to all devices using the Telstra Mobile Network, including but not limited to mobile handsets, EFTPOS machines, and any device with a Telstra Mobile SIM.

Upgrade work and testing, if all goes according to plan, will be completed by Friday 22 December 2023.

Site Outages will be kept to a minimum during that period, please note that a full site outage is required between Tuesday 12 – Friday 15 December 2023 and we anticipate launching the improved services as soon as possible.
