Murrindindi Shire Council has launched a new online business and services directory to help support and connect business with their customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

'Dindi Directory' gives the community information about hospitality and retail businesses, trades and services, health and fitness, library and learning services within Murrindindi Shire. Show your support to our businesses by purchasing products and services locally.

The new online e-commerce store allows you to buy local products, services and experiences available in Murrindindi Shire, from the comfort of your home. Support our community by selecting a local package for travel now or later, spoil a friend with a voucher for a meal, accommodation or experience or buy local products and gifts from one of our local online outlets. It's a great way to #supportlocal.

The 'Dindi Store' is an exciting new initiative from Murrindindi Shire Council to help support local business through the economic recovery phase of COVID-19. 

The project assists local retailers, producers, artists and service providers to have their own e-commerce store to sell products and services directly to their customers. 

As travel restrictions are lifted, the online store will help support businesses to offer packages and gift vouchers to the visitor market and provide the local community with an easy way to continue to shop locally from the comfort of home. 

We’ll be promoting these packages and gift vouchers to our key visitor markets including Melbourne, via our Discover Dindi channels as well as continuing to promote the Dindi Directory both locally and regionally as a one stop shop to support businesses. 

Examples of what we are looking for: 

Packages that will capture the imagination of potential visitors or that can engage with them now. For example

  • Accommodation, breakfast/dinner packages – team up with other local businesses to add some special experiences (massage, guided tour, local produce hamper)
  • Regional hampers showcasing the best of our locally produced product

Gift Vouchers that can be bought as gifts within our community or promoted outside our region. For example

  • Massage and pamper packs
  • Meals – dinners, lunches, high teas
  • Guided tours (fishing, hiking, cycling)
  • Ski equipment hire
  • Kayak, paddle board and boat hire experiences
  • Accommodation

Local retailers offering gifts, art and craft. Locally produced products that can be purchased online and shipped via post, courier or direct delivery. For example

  • Unique gifts or products
  • Locally produced arts and crafts
  • Local produce (i.e. wine & beer, oils, honey, jams & preserves, bakery items)

Council is supporting the cost of the online store subscription so there is no cost to join and all proceeds from sales are passed directly from the buyer to the seller. Note, standard processing fees apply for credit card payments (1.75% + 30c per transaction). Any costs associated with shipping, refunds and order changes will be the responsibility of the seller. 

Council will assist you to get your products live online and the payment gateway connected to enable payments to be made to you. Once the order is placed the process of communication between customer and seller and any disputes that may arise are the responsibility of the seller. 

Signing up to the 'Dindi Store' is easy. Go to www.thedindistore.com.au and click on Register as a Seller / Seller Login in the bottom left of the home page. You’ll see we've put together a Seller Guide with some handy hints to help you get started.
