Small Business Immediate Flood Relief Program

Businesses directly impacted by the Victorian floods that commenced in October 2022 can access a one-off grant of $5,000 to cover immediate expenses.

Murrindindi Shire is included in the eligible local government areas for businesses that incurred significant direct damage to their place of business, business assets, stock or equipment.

Agriculture Victoria Primary Producer Grants/Support Packages

Financial assistance is available for flood-affected farmers.  A support package is available for flood-affected farmers:

  • Primary Producer Clean-Up Relief Grants: $10,000 grants to cover the cost of the clean-up and get businesses up and running again.
  • Primary Producer Concessional Loans: Up to $250,000 to restore or replace damaged equipment and infrastructure, or to cover the short-term business expenses.
  • Primary Producer Transport Subsidies: Up to $15,000 to support the transport of emergency fodder or stock drinking water, and the movement of livestock.

Floods can bring a range of animal health problems, from food shortage and plant toxicity to dehydration, infection and disease. Agriculture Victoria provides assistance to landholders and communities with animal welfare-related issues resulting from floods. Business Advisory and Mental Health Support

Business Relief Service

The Business Relief Service is a free service offering one-on-one support from a local business mentor who will be available via telephone and on the ground to guide business owners through the available Federal, State and local supports. They can also help you manage insurance and landlord issues, assess impacts and form strategies for recovery.

To access the Business Relief Service, please call the Business Victoria hotline on 13 22 15 and they will connect you with dedicated mentors and support. The hotline operates seven days a week.

Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS)

The RFCS provides free financial counselling to farmers and small businesses who are in, or at risk of, financial hardship. Rural Financial Counselling Service remains available for farmers seeking support and can be contacted on 1300 771 741   The Partners in Wellbeing Helpline 

This service provides free and confidential support for sole traders, small business owners and their employees.
