Clean up and waste collection

Victorian Government Clean Up Program

The Victorian government is offering registrations for free structural assessments as part of a funded clean up program.

These assessments are available for affected residential properties and small businesses, including caravans used for residential or small business purposes.

Council Waste Collection

Following the recent flood events, Council is assisting impacted residents and businesses with disposal of flood-damaged waste.

To support our communities, Council is:

  • registering requests for collecting kerbside materials on behalf of Emergency Recovery Victoria
  • offering skip bins to businesses
  • providing free disposal of flood-damaged waste at our Resource Recovery Centres (RRCs) and at the Alexandra Landfill.

If you require assistance disposing of household flood-damaged waste, please call (03) 5772 0333 and ask to speak to someone in our Waste team.

We are working quickly to attend to all requests, but there may be some time between requesting the service and the waste being collected. If you would like flood-damaged waste disposed of immediately, please drop it off at our RRCs for free.  If you are unable to drop the waste material off, then call the Waste Team to discuss your options.

We cannot accept wet silage or hay at our RRCs or Alexandra Landfill. However, we can assist farmers and landowners with collection and disposal of this to other locations if it is something that cannot be managed on the farm. To arrange assistance, please call (03) 5772 0333 and ask to speak to someone in our Waste team.
