Hard Waste Collection to Flood Affected Properties

Following the recent flood events, Council has offered to assist impacted residents and businesses with disposal of flood-damaged goods and materials, including collection of waste from the kerbside, the provision of skip bins to businesses, and free disposal of flood-affected waste at our Resource Recovery Centres (RRCs) and the Alexandra Landfill.
Collections are still available on request. If you require assistance disposing of household flood-affected waste, please call 5772 0333 and ask to speak to someone in our Waste team. We are working quickly to attend to all requests, but there may be some time between requesting the service and the waste being collected. If residents would like flood-affected waste disposed of immediately, they are welcome to drop it off for free at our RRCs.
We have also extended our free green waste disposal until 31 December 2022 to assist residents to clean up and prepare their properties ahead of the forthcoming fire season.
We cannot accept wet silage / hay at our RRCs or landfill. However, we can assist farmers and landowners with collection and disposal of this to other locations through the Emergency Management Victoria contractor if it is something that cannot be managed on the farm. Again, please call us on 5772 0333 and ask to speak to someone in our Waste team to arrange assistance.
