An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nurse to contribute to the work of our dedicated team in the role of MCH Nurse. We are seeking a person who has a passion for working with young children and families in a position that has the ability to improve outcomes in the lives of others.
In this role you will be responsible for provision of Universal Maternal and Child Health activities, as outlined in the MCH Service Guidelines, including appropriate and timely referral and support for young children and their families.
The position requires an understanding of the Victorian MCH Framework and Program Standards; strong assessment and referral skills; an understanding of the MCH software program CDIS; current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, and postgraduate MCH qualifications and registrations; driver's licence and Working with Children Check.

About this opportunity
Promotion and delivery of the Key Age and Stage Framework (as set out in the Maternal and Child Health Practice Guidelines and Maternal and Child Health Service Guidelines) ensuring universal access for all families.
Ongoing monitoring and assessment of children to enable identification of children and families who require further assessment, intervention and support.
Implementation of strategies to bring families together and foster social networks and strengthen community connections.
Provision of additional support to families where clinically indicated.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day to day supervision.
- Skills in assessment, case management and referral
- Knowledge of current issues affecting the Maternal and Child Health Service.
- An understanding the importance of confidentiality.
- An understanding the requirements of Mandatory Reporting.
