Road Maintenance and Repairs

Overview

In Murrindindi Shire, some roads are maintained by VicRoads, and other roads are maintained by Council.

Council maintains approximately 490 km of sealed roads and 720 km of unsealed roads. Council is also responsible for the roadside maintenance of VicRoads managed roads within the 60 km zones of townships.

Each year, we re-sheet and grade gravel roads, re-seal and line mark sealed roads, and carry out major patching work.

The level of maintenance is determined by the road classification and maintenance standards outlined in Council’s Road Management Plan and Register of Public Roads.
