Child Safety and Reporting Procedures

Do you have concerns about a child's health or welfare? If you have formed a reasonable belief that a child has suffered or is likely to suffer significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect and their parent has not or is unlikely to protect them from harm of that type, you should make a report to Child Protection.

Any person who believes on reasonable grounds that a child needs protection can make a report to Child Protection. Child protection will decide when follow up is required and how to classify the report.

To make a report, contact child protection at the office that covers the local government area (LGA) where the child normally resides.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact Police on 000.
