Supported Playgroups

Supported Playgroups are a free weekly group session with a trained facilitator at Yea Pioneer Reserve, Raglan Street Yea on Mondays at 9.30am and Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House, 6 McMahons Road, Kinglake on Wednesdays 9.30am. The sessions are responsive to the needs and interests of all families.

Opportunities are provided for parents/carers to:

  • Meet other parents and benefit from mutual support and friendship networks.
  • Develop and build parenting skills.
  • Experience smalltalk – an evidence-based program that enhances interactions between parent and child in the Playgroup and home settings.
  • Learn about local services and community connections.
  • And of course ... HAVE FUN!

When attending Playgroup children will: 

  • Be exposed to a wide range of activities that will stimulate learning and imagination.
  • Have time to explore the natural environment.
  • Build social skills through interactions with and around others.
  • Develop skills and confidence in a positive and relaxed environment.
  • And of course ... HAVE FUN! 

The Playgroup sessions, funded by the Victorian Department Health and Human Services (DHHS), are available every Monday and Thursday in school terms.
