Supported Playgroups
Supported Playgroups are a free weekly group session with a trained facilitator at Yea Pioneer Reserve, Raglan Street Yea on Mondays at 9.30am and Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House, 6 McMahons Road, Kinglake on Wednesdays 9.30am. The sessions are responsive to the needs and interests of all families.
Opportunities are provided for parents/carers to:
- Meet other parents and benefit from mutual support and friendship networks.
- Develop and build parenting skills.
- Experience smalltalk – an evidence-based program that enhances interactions between parent and child in the Playgroup and home settings.
- Learn about local services and community connections.
- And of course ... HAVE FUN!
When attending Playgroup children will:
- Be exposed to a wide range of activities that will stimulate learning and imagination.
- Have time to explore the natural environment.
- Build social skills through interactions with and around others.
- Develop skills and confidence in a positive and relaxed environment.
- And of course ... HAVE FUN!
The Playgroup sessions, funded by the Victorian Department Health and Human Services (DHHS), are available every Monday and Thursday in school terms.
