Council Grant Opportunities

Six streams of funding to support activities which contribute to broader community wellbeing, visitation and economic development.

Timing

Grant streams have different timelines for submission and assessment. Click on the individual grant streams below for more information. For all applications that are assessed four times a year, the closing dates are 31 July for round one, 31 October for round two, 31 January for round three and 30 April for round four.

Grant Streams

Quick Response Grants $200 - $2500

For social enterprises and not-for-profit community groups and organisations for smaller projects, projects with short timelines and are ideal for applicants new to grants processes. Applications assessed and awarded by the end of the next month.

Sponsorship Grants Up to $5000

For eligible individuals, social enterprises, groups and organisations. Council provides a financial or non-financial contribution for an event, projects, service or activity, in return for agreed promotional benefits. Applications are assessed four times a year.

Community Projects Grants Up to $5000

For improving the liveability of our region, building connections, creating opportunities for participation in community and civic life, improving health and wellbeing, protecting our environment and, future planning. Applications are assessed four times a year.

Local Events Grants Up to $5000

Support for events to establish and grow. Funds can be accessed to start new events or grow niche events looking to improve financial sustainability. Applications are assessed four times a year.

Events of Major Significance Grants Up to $20,000

Supports the delivery of large events that are significant in terms of visitation, length of stay and yield to local businesses and communities. Applications are assessed four times a year.

Special Purpose Grants

Special Purpose Grants will arise from initiatives that emerge in response to adjustments in policy, direction or increased emphasis to achieve particular objectives. They require a realignment within a budget or transfer of funds across different budget areas, which requires Council approval.
