A by-election will be held to elect a new Councillor to represent the Kinglake Ward of Murrindindi Shire Council.
The by-election follows the resignation of former Kinglake Ward Councillor Jodi Adams, effective 12 August 2026. As Kinglake Ward is a single-Councillor ward, the extraordinary vacancy will be filled through a by-election conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
The election will be conducted by post in December 2026.

Why is a by-election being held?
The vacancy follows the resignation of Cr Jodi Adams from Murrindindi Shire Council, effective 12 August 2026.
Cr Adams was elected to represent Kinglake Ward in October 2024 and held Council's Community Wellbeing portfolio during her term.
