Shaping Murrindindi’s Future
Program Overview
Shaping Murrindindi’s Future is a community led program uniting and connecting locals who care about the future of our community. The program encourages creative and innovative thinking towards practical future concepts that will contribute to a thriving outcome for the people who live and work in this region.
The program works with communities who are directly impacted by the transition away from native timber harvesting. In particular, the areas of Marysville, Buxton, Taggerty and Alexandra have identified strengths, assets and develop opportunities for innovative diversification. The program aims to facilitate engagement and collaboration with community, business, local industries, education and government.
Shaping Murrindindi’s Future identified and researched practical opportunities that can contribute to a thriving and positive future for the community. These opportunities were discovered through a Smart Specialisation process to collate evidence from local knowledge, expertise, key assets and strengths, and regional statistical data.
Six key areas were identified as Innovation Opportunities for Murrindindi Shire. Learn more about Shaping Murrindindi’s Future and the Innovation Opportunities, as well as how you can get involved on the project website.
