Tourism
Tourism and the Visitor Economy are important to many towns within the corridor of the project, from Narbethong to Eildon. Tourism is driven by our natural assets, attracting varying levels of visitors throughout the year. The proposition is to further capitalise on prime locations, particularly Marysville, by extending visitor stays and increasing opportunities for investment in the local economy.
Projects underway or being considered include:
- Branding and identity research for the Narbethong to Eildon corridor
- Triangle Food Network is a pilot program exploring local food resilience and food-related tourism opportunities
- Ride Marysville is exploring the feasibility of creating a 100 km mountain-bike trails network around the township of Marysville, building on an earlier masterplan for the trails.
- Creating a winter festival with a joint branding and marketing platform for events over the winter period. This will not only enhance current events but also identified opportunities for future events, along with seed funding.
- Exploring whether a white-water course and unlocking key land for accommodation and other tourism activities in and around Eildon are viable projects.
The following reports are for completed projects. Other strategic documents will be added when projects are completed.
