Meet Vee, Project Officer Kerbside Reform
Published on 09 September 2025
If you have heard about the new four-bin kerbside collection service, you have probably come across the work of our Project Officer, Kerbside Reform, Vee.
If you haven’t, here’s what you need to know!
With more than thirty years in natural resource management, Vee has always been passionate about the environment that we all share, making her a natural fit for our Kerbside Reform project.
“Recycling is just another resource,” says Vee. “If we look after our environment, it will look after us. Separating our rubbish into food and garden organics (FOGO), mixed recycling, glass recycling and general rubbish means less waste in landfill, and more materials that can be reused in all sorts of ways from compost and road construction materials to glass bottles, jars or playground equipment.”
Vee and the rest of the Waste team do much more than kerbside collection – they also run education programs around recycling, manage five resource recovery centres across Murrindindi and the Alexandra Landfill.
When she’s not at work, Vee enjoys being part of the strong community spirit of Murrindindi Shire and spending time in nature. “I love spending time with my horses and dogs in the morning, there is nothing better than sunrise in Murrindindi Shire,” she says.
