Council has postponed the National Tree Day planting event at Old Josephine Cutting in Alexandra, originally scheduled for Sunday 27 July, due to the forecast of heavy rain. The sloping nature of the site means it would likely become slippery, posing a safety risk to participants.

The event will be rescheduled to a future date, and Council will share updates once details are confirmed.

In the meantime, other National Tree Day events across the Shire are still going ahead this Sunday, including:

  • Cathedral Landcare Group
    South Cathedral Lane
    10.00 am start
For more information, contact Tom on 0477 217 732
  • Home Creek–Spring Creek Landcare Group
Rail Trail near Yarck Village Place
    10.00 am start
For more information, contact Chris on 0413 855 490

To find other planting events in your area, visit the National Tree Day website and click ‘Find a Site’ to explore the interactive event map.

We would like to thank the community for their understanding and looks forward to seeing everyone at a rescheduled Alexandra event soon.
