Join a thought-provoking and practical workshop with others in your community who are interested in developing initiatives in Murrindindi Shire.

  • Hear about rural communities who are building a new future from within.

  • Discover how knowledge, know-how and networks can unlock localised innovation opportunities that are community-led and self-reliant.

  • Identify ways to use entrepreneurship to leverage the work local groups have underway.

This workshop is part of ‘Lead a new future for your community’ - a program designed to connect and support emerging leaders, building on and activating strategies developed by innovation working groups across northern Victoria.

Led by the Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship and co-hosted by Murrindindi Shire Council, this workshop will explore different models of rural entrepreneurship, and identify essential foundations needed to bring a community-led initiative to life or take an existing initiative to a new level.

Who is invited
Please come along if you contributed to Shaping Murrindindi’s future Local Development Strategy or are part of an Innovation Working Group. But attendance is not exclusive to this group. Bring a keen friend, or sign up solo - everyone is welcome!

Thanks to funding support from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) there is no cost to attend. We strongly encourage people who have contributed to innovation working groups to join, but attendance is not exclusive to this group. Bring a keen friend, or sign up solo - everyone is welcome! Refreshments and a light evening meal will be provided.

Background
'Lead a new future for your community' is a program designed by ACRE to support economic diversification planning in communities affected by Victoria’s transition away from native timber harvesting in State forests.

Thanks to funding support from DEECA, a tailored program of learning and development opportunities and mentoring is available to support these five priority communities with Local Development Strategies: Benalla, Corryong, Koondrook, Murrindindi, and Upper Yarra Ranges.

There are two Connect & Explore workshops happening in the Shire, if you can't make this event have a look at our other event in Narbethong here.
