This October, Murrindindi Shire Council will recognise and celebrate the valuable contributions of seniors with a free luncheon series. Residents aged 60 and over are invited to attend one of four complimentary luncheons, offering an opportunity to connect, share stories and celebrate the important role seniors play in the community. Each luncheon will feature a relaxed afternoon with a meal, guest speakers and live music by local musician Steve Paix. It is a chance to enjoy time with friends, neighbours and fellow community members. Events will be held in Molesworth, Thornton, Strath Creek and Buxton. These smaller towns with big charm provide the perfect opportunity to explore new corners of the Shire. Attendees are encouraged to plana scenic walk before or after the event and discover local trails and hidden gems at Discover Dindi. These events support social connection and wellbeing, key priorities in Council’s Health and Wellbeing Plan, and reflect our vision of a Shire where people of all ages can thrive. Doors open at 11.45 am for a 12.00 noon start. Each event finishes at 2.00 pm. Only 50 places are available at each venue. Bookings are essential and limited to two tickets per person. Reserve your spot on the Loop by Sunday 19 October 2025 or call Council’s Access and Inclusion Officer on 5772 0333. Council also has a community bus available for hire. These celebrations are part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, themed Connect. Create. Celebrate., and are supported by joint Commonwealth and State Government funding.
