Child Care

Family Day Care

Family Day Care is provided in the homes of registered educators. Educators can care for up to seven children in total, but no more than four preschoolers at a time. Care can also be provided in an approved venue such as a school.

Family Day Care educators currently work in Alexandra, Kinglake, Kilmore, Seymour, Woori Yallock, Healesville, Chum Creek, Seville and Millgrove.

Murrindindi Family Day Care engages educators on a contract basis, under an agreement to provide quality child care to children and families. We do thorough and in-depth checks on any prospective educators prior to commencing with the service to ensure they meet all required standards.

Our service is rated as meeting all of the National Quality Standards.

A place with Family Day Care is subject to availability of educators with vacancies and at their discretion. At present, our educators in Alexandra are full, however they are maintaining their own waiting lists. Council does not maintain waiting lists for individual educators and we suggest families seeking care contact our Family Day Care team by calling (03) 5772 0333 - we can provide your with more information about our educators, including their contact details. We try our best to accommodate everyone's needs and we are always recruiting for more educators to join our Family Day Care team.

Families using child care may be entitled to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to reduce child care costs. Please ask about the Child Care Subsidy when you speak with one of our child care team members.

Educators may charge in the range of $9 - 13 per hour, depending on the range of services they offer. They may also have set session fees and minimum hours.

From 15 July 2024, there is an administration levy of $2.50 per hour per child (capped for large families)
