In this influential role, you will provide strategic leadership across environmental sustainability, resource recovery, assets and infrastructure, driving innovation, contemporary practice and positive community outcomes.
About this opportunity
Reporting to the Director Assets & Sustainability, you will lead and manage a diverse portfolio including environmental sustainability, climate change and environmental sustainability, resource recovery and recycling, strategic asset management, engineering and transport services, capital works planning and delivery.
You will:
- Provide operational and strategic leadership to a multidiscipline team of professionals
- Drive best‑practice asset management, capital works and infrastructure services across the municipality
- Lead the development and delivery of strategies, policies and plans for climate change mitigation and adaptation, environmental sustainability and the circular economy
- Champion contemporary, state-of-the-art practices across your portfolio
- Apply your technical expertise to provide high‑quality advice and recommendations to teams, executives, Councillors and key stakeholders
- Support the Director in progressing long‑term planning, asset maturity and organisational capability
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex technical, operational or infrastructure portfolios, preferably within local government or a similarly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of asset management principles, infrastructure delivery and sustainability frameworks
- A contemporary, values‑driven leadership style with a strong reputation for collaboration, innovation and accountability.
