Council Services over 2025/26 Holiday Season

Murrindindi Shire Council advises all residents that our Holiday Season operating hours will be as follows:
Alexandra, Kinglake and Yea Library and Customer Service Centres
Wednesday 24 December: 9.00 am – 3.00 pm
Thursday 25 December – Thursday 1 January: CLOSED
Friday 2 January: Usual hours resume
Mobile Library and Customer Service
Wednesday 24 December - Friday 2 January: CLOSED
Tuesday 6 January: Usual timetable resumes
Swimming Pools
Thursday 25 December: CLOSED
Friday 26 December: open for morning and afternoon swimming
Monday 22 December - Wednesday 28 January: open from 1.00 - 6.00 pm

Maternal and Child Health Centres
Wednesday 24 December: 9.00 am – 3.00 pm
Thursday 25 December – Friday 2 January: CLOSED
Monday 5 January: Usual hours resume
Kerbside Collection Services
Kerbside bin collection will not occur on Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) or Thursday 1 January (New Years Day).
Following Christmas Day and New Years Day, Thursday collections will be on Friday, and Friday collections will be on Saturday. For a full list of holiday collection dates see table below, or visit our Bins, Rubbish and Recycling page to check the calendar or LoopedIn Councils app.

Resource Recovery Centres and Alexandra Landfill
All Resource Recovery Centres (RRCs) will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. RRCs are also closed on Total Fire Ban days.
