Looking to make an impact in your community? Or are you already volunteering and keen to grow your group?
In the spirit of this year's National Volunteer Week theme, 'Bringing Communities Together', Council is hosting a Volunteer Expo to help you find your perfect volunteer match.
Why volunteer? It’s a win-win! You’ll give back to your community, learn new skills, and feel amazing doing it. Volunteering not only boosts your well-being but also makes our community stronger. Volunteering also offers you the opportunity to learn more about our vibrant and diverse community and develop interests you've always wanted to explore. From arts and literature to bettering our environment, working with animals, supporting emergency services, and local history, there's a group for you.
Interested in hosting a stall? Volunteer groups can register their stall. Looking for your group? Prospective volunteers can register for a ticket. Registrations close Thursday 3 July. For more information, call Council on (03) 5772 0333 and ask to speak with Bill Bate, our Community Capacity Building Officer. This event is part of Council’s Community Capacity Building Program, made possible with funding from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) Community Development Fund.
For more information on the benefits of joining a group, hear from local community members on why they volunteer.
