Boundary Creek Open Space Plan Yea Chambers Drop-in Session

Boundary Creek Open Space Plan Dop in Sessions.png

Council wants to hear from you about how you would like to use the area including its use for recreational, health, environmental and broad community benefit. Your input will support the development of a concept plan that will guide prioritisation of improvements and support seeking funding to deliver.

Council is partnering with specialist landscape architects Michael Smith & Associates (MSA) for this project.
The focus of this stage is to gather input on various elements of the concept plan, including how to:

  • Provide a blueprint for the future management of the reserve including recreational, health, environment and community connection values.
  • Review existing passive recreation provision in Yea and assess the local, district and regional level of facilities to support connectivity with the study area.
  • Consider the recent subdivisions established in the Lawrance Road development area and their pedestrian connections and interface with the study area.
  • Consider future residential developments identified in the Development Plan for Lawerance's Road Yea and their future connectivity with the study area.
  • Consideration of the impact of flooding in the Boundary Creek catchment, with the study area being predominately located in a Flood overlay area.
  • The study area will encompass the two existing subdivisions being the Habitat north of Racecourse Road and Yea Springs Estate.

Residents, businesses, and local groups will have the opportunity to share their ideas about how the Boundary Creek Reserve can be enhanced to support Yea’s growing population, while preserving the area’s unique environmental character.

Come along to ask questions, share your vision and speak with Council staff, representatives and the design team.
