Alexandra National Tree Day event has been rescheduled!

Council’s National Tree Day planting event at Old Josephine Cutting in Alexandra, originally planned for Sunday 27 July, was postponed due to predicted heavy rainfall. The site’s steep slope meant participant safety would have been compromised.

We’re pleased to announce the event has been rescheduled to Sunday 10 August from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.

Location is approximately three-quarters of the way up Old Josephine Cutting. Entry is via the road next to the Alexandra Showgrounds (top end of Grant Street).

What’s Happening?

  • Planting a variety of native trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and grasses to support biodiversity and create a bird-friendly habitat.
  • The site is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for very young children.
  • Please wear sturdy footwear, bring gloves, and consider a raincoat.
  • All planting tools and equipment will be provided.

Community members are warmly invited to take part! This is a great opportunity to connect with others and contribute to a healthier environment.

For more information, contact Sue McNair at Council on (03) 5772 0333.

We look forward to seeing you there!
