Looking after yourself and others - Highlands
You're invited to a Community Connection Dinner
Council is working with our local hall committees to bring people together after the recent fire — to share a meal, reconnect, and support each other.
Come on down to Highlands Community Hall for dinner from 5.30 pm and a presentation from Dr Rob Gordon at 7.00 pm.
Rob is one of Australia’s most experienced disaster recovery experts. He’s spent nearly 40 years helping communities after fires, floods and other emergencies.
He’ll chat about:
- how stress can show up after big events
- why our bodies can stay on “high alert”
- simple ways to feel calmer and more settled
Rob explains things in a really clear, down‑to‑earth way.
A big thank you to our volunteers
Since the fires, our hall committees and community groups have done an amazing job — hosting dinners and safe spaces, running BBQs and morning teas, and helping neighbours stay connected. We’re proud to support them in delivering these events.
Come along and connect
This night is all about slowing down, sharing a meal, and spending time with others in the community.
