Department of Transport and Planning Community Information Session
Next date: Wednesday, 02 September 2026 | 10:00 AM
to 01:00 PM
Community Information Session with the Department of Transport and Planning.
People who live, work, visit or travel through Alexandra are invited to drop in and speak with Murrindindi Shire Council staff and representatives from the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) about Grant Street and the DTP-managed sections of Maroondah Highway (Grant Street) and Goulburn Valley Highway (Downey Street).
- Wednesday 2 September 2026
- 10.00 am to 1.00 pm
- Alexandra Shire Hall
This informal drop-in session is an opportunity to share your experiences using Grant Street, ask questions, and discuss your ideas and feedback with Council and DTP representatives.
There will be no formal presentation. Community members are welcome to attend at any time during the session.
Council is currently seeking community feedback as part of the Grant Street Safety and Streetscape Improvement Plan. While most of Grant Street is managed by Council, the Maroondah Highway section north of the Downey Street intersection is part of the Victorian arterial road network and requires DTP involvement for significant changes. DTP representatives will be available to hear directly from the community and answer questions about the state-managed road network.
