You're invited to a Community Lunch

Council is working with our local hall committees to bring people together after the recent fire — to share a meal, reconnect, and support each other.

As we move from fire relief to longer term recovery there will be issues and decisions that need community input.

Come along and share your views about recovery priorities and how our community wants to be represented in recovery planning
and decision-making now and into the future.

Hear from Anne Leadbeater OAM

Anne Leadbeater is an independent consultant who helps communities recover after disasters and build resilience for the future. She has more than 30 years’ experience working in community services and across all levels of government, supporting communities recovering from drought, fire, flood, cyclone and earthquake across Australia and New Zealand.

Anne helps people have important conversations about recovery. She shares ideas and approaches that support wellbeing and help communities work together in difficult times.

Anne lives in Kinglake, Victoria, and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her work after the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.

A big thank you to our volunteers

Since the fires, our hall committees and community groups have done an amazing job — hosting dinners and safe spaces, running BBQs and morning teas, and helping neighbours stay connected. We’re proud to support them in delivering these events.

Come along and connect

This event is all about slowing down, sharing a meal, and spending time with others in the community.
