  • Project typeRoad Safety
  • Project scheduleIn Progress

Murrindindi Shire Council is undertaking a review of the speed limit along Kinglake-Glenburn Road and Westridge Road in Kinglake and Glenburn in response to community concerns.

An initial assessment of the road has recommended the following changes, as shown below:

  • Extend the Kinglake 50 km/h zone past the intersection with McMahons Road
  • Extend the Kinglake 60 km/h zone to the intersection with Old Glenburn Road
  • Lower the 100 km/h section past Old Glenburn Road to 80 km/h
  • Lower West Bridge Road and the approach to West Bridge Road to 60 km/h.

Murrindindi Shire Council has received funding under TAC’s Safer Local Roads and Streets Program (SLRSP), in partnership with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to support this proposal.

Draft designs for the speed limit changes, along with the feedback received from the community, has been submitted to the Department of Transport and Planning for consideration. As the Department is the responsible authority for approving speed limit changes on this road, Council cannot finalise the detailed design or commence delivery until that approval is received.
