Municipal Recovery Plan

Council thanks everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the Draft Murrindindi Municipal Recovery Plan for the January 2026 Bushfires.

The Draft Plan was informed by feedback gathered through recovery hubs, community meetings, recovery groups and direct engagement with affected residents over recent months. Public consultation has now closed, with community feedback now being considered.

The Plan serves as a public record of the impacts of the January 2026 fires and provides a framework for medium and longer-term recovery across the Shire. It includes actions for people and wellbeing, buildings and infrastructure, agriculture, business and the visitor economy, environment and biodiversity, Aboriginal culture and healing, and communication and advocacy.

The Plan will be presented to Council for endorsement at the Wednesday 28 October Council Meeting

One endorsed, the document will guide recovery efforts and advocacy activities to support affected communities in the months and years ahead.
