A community meeting was held at the Yea Town Hall on Friday 21 October 2022.
 
Local residents and businesses heard from emergency response and recovery agencies, support service partners and Council on the current flood situation and recovery planning that's underway work that's underway, and the support services available.
 

The meeting focused on immediate support for affected communities and plans for ongoing community recovery. It also covered information on Lake Eildon releases, relief for farmers, including emergency fodder and advice on deceased stock, emergency payments for flood affected residents and businesses, and Council provided an update on waste coordination, asset impact assessments and the flooding situation in Thornton. We also discussed advice on flood preparedness for the coming week, with further rains expected.
