Bushfire Places of Last Resort

A Bushfire Place of Last Resort (previously known as a Neighbourhood Safer Place) is not a community fire refuge or emergency relief centre. Places of Last Resort are just that - places of last resort during the passage of a bushfire and are intended to be used by persons whose primary bushfire plans have failed.

Bushfire Places of Last Resort are places of relative safety only. They do not guarantee the survival of those who assemble there – you may be exposed to smoke, heat and ember attack at a Bushfire Place of Last Resort. There may also be serious risks to safety encountered in travelling to Bushfire Places of Last Resort during a bushfire.

Depending on the position and direction of a bushfire, a designated Bushfire Place of Last Resort may not be safer than other locations within the area.

Yarck Recreation Reserve, Yarck Road
Yea Railway Park, Station Street
