Community Meeting in Yea

A community meeting was held at the Yea Shire Hall (27A High Street, Yea) at 10.30 am on Wednesday 10 January 2024. 

The purpose of the meeting was to talk with Murrindindi Shire residents and businesses about: 

  • the current flood situation 
  • local impacts and what to expect over the coming days 
  • what recovery is going to look like 
  • your questions or concerns 

We heard from emergency response and recovery agencies, like the SES and Victoria Police, local water authorities, and Murrindindi Shire Council with information on impacts to roads and other infrastructure and Council services, including waste collection services.

The meeting focused on immediate support for affected residents and plans for ongoing community recovery.
